Description
A joyful piece helping us to set our minds and hearts on our home in heaven.
It is the words, particularly of the last verse that inspired me to arrange When the Saints Go Marching In. As you study them – there is some tremendous truth there:
O when the saints go marching in,
O when the saints go marching in,
O Lord, I want to be in that number
when the saints go marching in.
O when the sun refused to shine…
O when the trumpet sound its call…
O when the new world is revealed…
O when all knees bow at His name…
O when they sing the Savior’s praise…
O when they crown Him Lord of all,
O when they crown Him Lord of all,
O Lord, I want to be in that number
when they crown Him Lord of all.
As I worked, I figured how to weave in When We All Get to Heaven.
The beginning is slow and hymn-like. As the piece progresses, it moves into the traditional jazz style – including a New Orleans-style quartet section. The ending is up and joyful.
Difficulty – medium-difficult
